Off the shoulder dress

Just what I say to myself every morning before I hop out of bed.  I’m kidding – but I AM saying that today because I adore this dress! If you follow me on Instagram, I shared a picture from of it and talked about the slight alteration I made to this off the shoulder Zara number to make it my own. Take a peek at the dress pre alteration and let me know what you think. Initially, it fell below my knees at around my calves and as much as I love a fabulous long dress, this one looked awkward (I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the BEFORE for comparison). SO, I did what any girl who has a family member with a sewing machine would do, I had my mom-in-law take it up a bit. VOILA – Here she is!

I  WAS pair the dress with sneakers because I love my sneaks, but the sheen of the material made me opt for dressing it up. Although, I have been known to style lush textures like velvet with sneakers. I thought I’d follow “the rules” this time.
